We are students at Fords Middle School and we are proud to be students here. Being at Fords Middle gives us a bunch of opportunities to have fun but also get our work done. Always being at Fords Middle taught us a lot about friends, grades, and being hard-working students here.
Here at Fords Middle, we have a bunch of different clubs and sports. The main sports we have are volleyball, basketball, softball, cheer, baseball, and cross country.
Zayne is on the basketball team and this is what he says about the team, “It was a good experience to have with my fellow teammates. I’ve learned a lot from Coach E that basketball is a group game, not a yourself game. Mr. E always pushed us to work hard and win. I loved being on the basketball team because of the memories and practices.”
Josh is part of the cross country team. Cross country is a sport where you race other teams to see whichever team has the most players in places 1-10th place. If the majority of your team gets in 1-10th place, then you win. It’s hard because it’s a mile and sometimes feels a little long and keeping up with others is a struggle. You want to stop, but stopping is the last thing you want to do. Even a slow jog is better than stopping. At the end, the Meet of Champions is where all the teams come together and race to see who is the best team of the season and win a trophy and a banner in your school.
Alexiya is on the volleyball and cheer teams and said that “being on the volleyball team required dedication and a good mindset. You also need to keep your grades up and work hard or you can’t play. I’ve learned so much from the amount of practices we had. Volleyball had amazing memories and I’ve made a lot of new friends being on the team. The players on the team worked super hard to help us win the championship and I enjoyed every minute of it.” Alexiya also said that “being on the cheer team was a unique experience. The cheer team had some bad memories and some drama but some days were super fun. I remember having practices for many long hours and being super tired everyday, but the day of the competition it was all worth it. Everyone had their bad days with each other but everyone came together to help us win the competition and perform super well.”
