When it comes to Fords Middle School, what do students actually want?
Here’s our list of requests!
- One student, Janelle said, “They should add vending machines back so kids could get the snack of their choice or drinks of their choice.” She and other students we have interviewed said they should be able to take money out of their lunch accounts if they didn’t bring money for the snack day at lunch.
- Students should be able to change their special after two days into the new marking period.
- Teachers on bathroom duty should allow two students into the bathroom so long lines wouldn’t be formed and students wouldn’t lose class time.
- Another student, Sachin said, “1One honors class per grade, one science for honors, one math, one civics, and one ELA, especially for science and civics.”
- Other students say they should add more sports to the school instead of only having basketball, volleyball, bowling, cross country, and baseball.
- Some players argue that each sport should have two coaches per team for more coaching.
- They should also make a field for baseball and one for softball.
- Students should be able to choose if they have gym on A or B day.
- Instead of doing books for gym, there should be a workout day once a week, and also no walking for warm up.
- We should also be able to wear uggs and crocs on days that we don’t have gym.
- There should be two students allowed out of class at a time.
- We should also be able to buy snacks at lunch with points. Using our phones during lunch would also be good since it’s our break time.
- We should also have a period like high school does.
- They should add a school library again.
- STEM should be a full year subject.
- There should be more assemblies and they should also be longer.
- We also shouldn’t come back from a long break on a Friday.
- Other than only having Fall Fest and Summer Fest, they should add Winter Fest and Spring Fest.
- Students should have the option to carry our bags or put it into our lockers instead of carrying our stuff around.
- They should bring back the cooking classes because some students want to learn how to cook desserts or pastries.
- We should have plays for anyone that is interested in doing musicals or plays.
