This year, in hopes to improve The Falcon’s Nest newspaper by increasing photo content, Ms. Marghany has brought the first ever Media Team production here to FMS. The team consists of a group of 6, 7th, and 8th graders who participate in capturing highlights of events that take place here at school.
They first debuted at the Indic Heritage Month with Anisha G taking pictures of the performances using a digital camera. The very same day, the Blue and White Basketball Challenge took place and groups of students did rounds of capturing the event from taking pictures of the crowds in the bleachers, the participants, their very own mascot, and even the score board.

The Media Team does use professional equipment with digital cameras and the bigger Canons. Though most of the kids do not own their own, they rotate with Ms.Marghany’s personal ones. Some kids bring in their own, even using phone cameras. Anisha G, who took pictures for the Indic Heritage Month presentation, said, “I had a good time taking pictures of all three of the Indic Heritage presentations. I used one of Ms. Marghany’s cameras and worked with Joel, a 7th grader.”
After taking the pictures, the group comes together every Monday to upload files of the photos. They even make videos and presentations that will soon be displayed on the cafeteria televisions.
