Temetrius Jamel Morant, better known as Ja Morant, was born on August 10, 1999, in Dalzell, South Carolina. Since he was young he really loved playing basketball and spent most of his days practicing all the time with his father, Tee Morant.
When Ja was a child he worked really hard to improve his basketball skills. He would often practice in his backyard and played against older players. His improvement helped him become a stronger and better athlete and prepared him for big opportunities.
After Morant got out of high school, he went to Murray State University. While he was there, he quickly became one of the best players on the team. His impressive performances caught the attention of basketball fans and NBA scouts across the country.
In 2019, Ja Morant was selected by the Memphis Grizzlies as the second overall pick in the NBA Draft. He made a quick impact and showed that he can compete at the highest level.
During an interview with Aria P, she said, “Personally, I think Ja Morant does have a lot of popularity but sometimes it’s not really about his basketball skills, it’s mostly about his looks. To be honest, Ja Morant should just quit the NBA because he keeps getting caught with weapons and it’s really not even ok. Ja Morant is not really trying hard enough so I don’t think he will ever get to Michael Jordan level. How is he ever gonna get there if his team is horrible? That means he definitely needs to try harder.”
