Firstly, the Knicks started out on June 6, 1946. The Knicks were competitive from the start, making continuous NBA Finals appearances in three straight years (1951, 1952, and 1953). The team’s full, official name is the New York Knickerbockers. The best player that the Knicks ever had was Patrick Ewing; he played for the Knicks from 1985-2000 until he got drafted to the Seattle Supersonics.
In 2026, the New York Knicks made it to the Finals. Before that, they hadn’t made the finals since 1998! Us Knicks fans have been waiting for this moment. “I feel really happy because this is, well for me, the first time in my life to see my favorite team get into the NBA finals,” said Ishaan. Ishaan is a big Knicks fan and is super happy about the Knicks entering the 2026 finals.
So is Bernard from 6th grade. He said that “I think it’s a big achievement for the team and like they haven’t been in the Finals since the 90s so I’m really excited.” As you can see, Knicks fans are going crazy over the 2026 Finals.
Speaking about Knicks fans going crazy over the 2026 NBA finals, civilians are destroying NYC due to their loss. Any time New York gets into the Semi-Finals and they win, fans go crazy! We asked Ishaan, do you think New York will go crazy if they win the Finals? He responded with, “ Yes of course, I mean remember game 3 when they lost to the Spurs, so many people got arrested for assault for beating up Spurs fans.”
We asked Bernard the same question, and he didn’t have a different answer. Bernard said, “ Yea, on May 21, 2021, people were literally climbing light posts and waving Knicks’ flags. It was crazy.”
Jalen Brunson, is one of the best players for the New York Knicks in the 2026 season, is doing super good this season. During the 2026 Playoffs, he got awarded 2026 Eastern Conference Finals MVP. He joined the Knicks on July 12, 2022 at the age 25. In the Finals, he was doing so many 3s and layups. Jalen Brunson brought the New York Knicks to the Final in 2026. First people thought he was going to do bad for the team but he proved them wrong and fought and practiced so much that he got better. Some of his family members are also basketball players; his father is a former NBA player and a current assistant coach for the New York Knicks. He also has a daughter named Jordyn Brunson, who was born on July 31, 2024, with his wife Dr. Ali (Marks) Brunson.
Next, Josh Hart. Hart joined the Knicks on February 9th, 2023. Hart has a height of 6 ‘5 and he is known for rebounding. He has a unique strength for getting the ball off the rim to grab defensive rebounds. About his personal life, Josh Hart was born in Silver Spring, Maryland, his parents were Moses and Pat Hart. Hart married Shannon in 2021. They share twin boys, Hendrix and Haze who will hopefully play for the Knicks in the future.
