SGA is considered one of the greats. In May 2026, before tip off, SGA got handed his second MVP. Now he has more MVPs than Kobe and is tied with who some consider the greatest of all time, Micheal Jordan.
SGA is 27 years old and still in his prime . If he wins the Larry O’Brian trophy / NBA championship, he will do what Jordan did. Jordan won two MVPs straight with two champions straight. SGA’s real name is Shai Gigouels Alexander. He broke Chamberlain’s record this year as well. SGA also won clutch player of the year and had insane clutch plays this year. His most iconic one was the one against the Denver Nuggets.
SGA has 83 of 100 first place votes. He was so close to unanimous MVP and there is only one in the whole NBA history and that guy’s name is Stephen Curry. He has the most three pointers in NBA history. SGA is currently in the western conference finals and he is averaging 30 points per game in the Playoffs. He sadly got his first lost of the season against the runner up for the MVP Victor Wembyama. Wembyama took his loss for the MVP serious. Against the real MVP, Wembyama dropped 41 points double double.
OKC was the best team for two years straight and the stats obviously show that the OKC Thunder play worse without him and to win the MVP you have to have a really good effect on your team. If your team plays well without you then that means you’re not too much help for the team. SGA has a 8-1 record this Playoffs, which means OKC has the best record in these playoffs currently.
SGA has to play the Knicks or Cavs in the finals and both of those teams look really good. The Knicks just came off a sweep against the Sixers and the Cavs just beat the number one seeded Pistons. The Knicks could potentially go to their first finals since 1998 or James Harden can go to his first final of his whole career and he can prove he is not a playoff bust.
But the thing is SGA has to beat the Spurs first. They won 62+ teams this year, and teams barely do that. There is very little teams in NBA history who have done that. There is going to be history made in this NBA final no matter what.
Q&A
I sat down with Alberi, a fellow 8th grader, for a Q&A session.
Ibrahim: “Do you think SGA should have won MVP?”
Alberi: “No, he is a flopper and he foul baits. His game is not even as good too. I feel like Wemby should have won MVP but don’t worry, he will win next year.”
Ibrahim:”Do you think SGA is better than James Harden all time?”
Alberi: “Of course, I mean SGA is a 2 time MVP and has one championship and James Harden has zero championships and I feel like SGA had a better MVP campaign than James Harden ever had.”
Ibrahim: “do you think SGA deserves clutch player of the year?”
Alberi: “No I think Brunson should have gone back to back since he had mad clutch performances.”
Ibrahim: “I agree, but do you think SGA will win back to back to back and win MVP next year?”
Alberi:”It’s possible but now the league has Wemby so I dont know.”
Ibrahim: “Do you think Wemby will be better than Shaq?”
Alberi:”No.”
Ibrahim: “How much DPOY will WEMBY win?”
Alberi: “Bro he might win like 8 or 9.”
Ibrahim: “Will Wemby be the best Spurs player of all time?”
Alberi: “Of course, he has no comp.”
