There is an alternate reality game (ARG) series of Minecraft called Searching For A World That Doesn’t Exist, created by a YouTuber named Wifies. A second series called Destroying A World That Doesn’t Exist was then released.

The story took place in 6/4/2001 and it is about Derek and Avery, who are two different people in Minecraft that are trying to destroy the King in Yellow. The King is trying to take Avery so he can cause destruction. Derek joined his old Minecraft world and knew immediately it was different now. The gate opened then the ancient gates opened and the King awakened.
The King is a cosmic being that wants to cause chaos and needs a host (Avery) to respite the spell to open the portal or gate to the overworld so he can reign once again. But d3rlo3d respite the spell so he gets rid of the King for good, but the King wasn’t gone, he was inside d3rlord3’s head. When he respite the spell, they fused and went into the void.
But the main part of the story has a cosmic being that wants to warp all the Galaxies beyond recognition and the being is the King in Yellow. It’s about a lord who wants to keep this one person that the King wants to possess so he can warp the world. That was Avery’s story.

Let’s start going into d3rlord3 (Derek). A player d3rlord3 discovers a library in the Minecraft world, finding encrypted knowledge that allows him to break the rules of the game to try and save Avery. Unlike the first part, which thrived on eldritch, unseen horror, the sequel, shows the King, reducing it to a more tangible foe, which some viewers felt reduced the tension.
d3rLord3(Derek) is forced to destroy Avery in-game to break the King’s influence and prevent the merger, saving him, but trapping them both.
Fellow 7th grader, Isaiah, had this to say about the game: “There’s a book about the King in Yellow that everyone was scared about because the second act of it says the King can shatter people’s minds. It’s my third favorite ARG/alternate reality game story, but still a good one and I recommend watching it.”
