Thousands of people at home just love to sit down on the couch with family and watch sports or a variety show. For example, Americans always have a tradition of watching the Superbowl at home with family and friends. Now in Europe, families sit down and listen to music from each country and judge if they’re good or not.
Now you might be thinking that what I said is true, won’t you? Well no, Eurovision Junior is known to be a musician’s highway robbery of their talent. Millions of people online claim that the qualified judges at Eurovision Junior are purposely choosing the same country over and over again. Even though regular people do vote for these countries, how come countries that were dubbed to have a beautiful song get the lowest score than the songs that weren’t appreciated as much?
Here’s what we know about JESC 2025.
The Eurovision Junior song contest of 2025 was held in Tbilisi, Georgia. Eurovision originated in Copenhagen, Denmark in 2003 which was a song contest for Scandinavian young children with musical taste. In later years after Eurovision Junior started it soon turned into the whole of Europe joining the competition now. When Eurovision Junior began 23 years ago, it was immediately recorded for all of Europe to see. This idea might’ve been the reason why it gained so many entries from thousands of contestants. Think of it as AGT, everyone always wants to show off their great talents that they want to show to the public. Another thing that we know about the JESC is that the first country to win it was surprisingly Croatia (unlike today since France keeps winning). All these countries have always been pushing to win every year. But not everyone gets lucky here.
The Cons of Eurovision Junior.
JESC of 2025 involved 18 countries:
France
Spain
Georgia
Italy
Portugal
Malta
North Macedonia
Albania
Poland
San Marino
Croatia
Cyprus
Ireland
Azerbaijan
Ukraine
Netherlands
Armenia
Montenegro
All these countries were approved by millions of people that they were good and that it showed compassion within. Many in JESC gained more than a thousand views, possibly more than a hundred thousand views or likes. But that doesn’t really matter the most. What matters the most are the judges in the contest. All over social media, millions of people state that the judges don’t really care about how good a song is or they don’t know who they’re choosing to win. A lot of people say that the judge or judges are purposely choosing the same countries over and over like stated before. Another cons in the contest is that contestants can only have limited English in their song since they want their song to have some ethnicity in their music from their country. Another con about the contest is that the show often reflects on adult agendas. The final con about the contest is that it can create a large amount of mood swings and can also increase one’s anxiety in their mind.
One example would be this year when Georgia’s final standing in the contest would be third place under Ukraine and France. During that moment the singer, Anita Abgariani faced so much stress during the final votes that she started sobbing after she got third place with her song being one of the best. During this moment, it showed to the whole world how much stress someone can endure during not just Junior Eurovision but regular Eurovision which is known to be way tougher to even enter. One small con about the whole contest is the participation decline where many people were declined from entering the contest which led to many children to join hopeless of their dream.
In summary, Eurovision can be a wonderful event if the judges won’t mess it up and choose the same country. Now a lot of people online disagree with all the commentary of people saying things that are against the winning country, one example would be France where people would tell or write online saying that France should be suspended from joining but those kind of comments left French people or other people arguing saying that its not France’s fault that they have better talent than other countries (which is a huge lie by the way). In conclusion, Eurovision Junior can be great to watch but it can also mean war in the music industry.
