Everyone has heard of or even has eaten these popular chips. Takis Fuego is rated the eighth spiciest chip in the U.S. as of 2025. Even though these chips are well-known and loved across the globe, some people don’t know all of the pros and cons of them.
Let’s start with the pros. Takis come in an intense and bold flavor, making them a fan-favorite for people who love the thrill of spice.
Next is that Takis bags come in many different sizes, making them easily portable and on-the-go approved. These bag sizes go from 3.25 oz (single serve) to 17 oz (Fiesta Size). Or their largest size bag, the Party size standing at 24.7 oz.
Another pro is that Takis come in various flavors. Some of these flavors include guacamole, blue heat, nitro, sweet chili and more.
Finally, the last pro is that Takis are well known for their satisfying and delicious sounding crunch. These satisfying crunches are brought to you by the rolled up figure of the chip. (Despite there being more shapes displayed in the image above, the rolled shape is most popular).
Now we’re going to point out the cons. First of all, Takis can be messy, and can stain clothing very easily. But that’s not the only thing they stain. They stain fingers and nails if eaten with fingers.
Another thing is that they can cause stomach issues. Some people get acid reflux/heartburn when eating these as well as stomach irritation and uncomfortable digestion.
These chips are also filled with high sodium rates along with fats. They include artificial flavorings and some flavors have been rumored to have Red40, a dangerous artificial food dye, in them.
Lastly, Takis have quite the bite to them. They contain a lot of spice and some people can’t handle them. Aside from that being a personal preference or your taste bud’s decisions, they do contain high spice.
In conclusion, Takis chips have many pros and cons despite being popular. Be safe eating these chips too much to avoid problems. Now answer this; would you still grab a bag, or is the spice a dealbreaker for you?
