The NBA season just started, so I thought that I would provide a recap of the 2016 NBA finals. The teams competing in the finals were the Golden State Warriors and the Cleveland Cavaliers. These two teams have played each other in the finals for three years in a row.
Game one was a thriller to watch. The Warriors won but it was a pretty good game. The final score was 104-89. The Warriors were up 28-24 in the first quarter. In the second quarter, the Warriors scored more than the Cavaliers again. They didn’t in the third though. The Cavaliers scored more than the Warriors by 3.
Game two was not the same though. The Warriors won again 110-77. The Cavaliers were up in the first quarter, but that quickly went away. The Warriors scored over twelve points more than the Cavaliers. The Warriors were up for the rest of the game after that.
Game three was not really fun to watch because it was a 30 point game. It looked like the game was going to be over at the end of the first quarter.
Game four was the same as games one and two. The Warriors won against the Cavaliers 108-97. The Cavaliers were up at halftime, but the Warriors came back being down 55-51 at the half. In the third and fourth quarter combined, the Warriors outscored the Cavaliers 58-42. In total, the Warriors outscored 11 more points then the Cavaliers.
Game five was shocking for me. The Cavaliers won against the Warriors 112-97, which is almost a 20 point game. It was a tie game at the end of halftime. The score was 61-61 to end of the second quarter. The Cavaliers pulled it away though in the second half. The Cavaliers outscored the Warriors in the second half 51-36.
Game six was another shocking win for the Cavaliers again. The Cavaliers won against the Warriors 115-101. For me, it seemed like the Cavs were going to win from the start. When the first quarter ended, the Cavs were up 32-11 in the first quarter, which is actually crazy. At the end of the first half, the Cavs were up 59-43.
Game seven was where it all mattered. All can be lost in this game. At the end of the first quarter, the Cavs were up 23-22. At the end of the half, the score was 49-42 and the Warriors were up. At the end of the third quarter, the score was 76-74 Warriors. Now the final score was crazy. The final score was 93-89 Cavs. The Cavs have now reached their goal. The Warriors played a good game but it wasn’t enough.
As you can see, the 2016 finals were very fun to watch with your family. The crazy thing is that the Warriors and the Cavaliers played each other in the finals for the next two years straight!
