On October 24, 2024, the Pink Out event was held to honor Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Students and staff wore pink and a special event was held during 5th and 6th block.
During the day, many students were wearing pink and those who paid to go to Pink Out got a wristband. Then, later in the day, students had access to leave class to enjoy the event in the cafeteria. During this event, students had fun playing minigames, seeing staff members participating in a hot wing eating contest, listening to Mr. Sikora’s DJ music, and munching on delicious snacks.
The minigames included picking up marshmallows with chopsticks, cup stacking, a chance to spin the wheel to get rewarded, and many more activities.
I spoke with 7th graders, Mattias and Jaelyn, who were amazed by the event. Mattias says, “I was amazed by the entertainment. I liked how Mr. Sikora was the DJ.”
Jaelyn also said, “I liked how fun it was and the experience of putting on the songs ‘Fein’ and ‘Thick of It’.” All of the students seemed to be enjoying the music of the afternoon, with plenty of dancing and singing along. Overall, the event proved to be an enjoyable experience.
