Have you noticed yourself becoming more and more disinterested in your favorite show? Or perchance your favorite movie series? Well, you may not be imagining that the quality getting worse; it may actually be!
Companies have started to use AI in their content. They use AI for script writing, animation, and just general idea-generating, leaving us with boring and bad content. Companies are picking quantity over quality, resulting in subpar content.
Prices are rising, but animators and writers’ wages aren’t. They keep receiving little pay, despite constantly getting more and more work piled on them. As well, some animators and writers are losing their jobs to AI, because for the company, AI is better; it doesn’t need to be paid, can work fast, and doesn’t complain.
People tend to hate-watch, which is viewing just to laugh at or criticize. Some just view out of curiosity. Because of hate-watching, shows and movies that people heavily dislike often get continued and renewed, because technically, they make money. Shows that people actually enjoy are getting canceled left and right, often because of lack of watch time.
When I asked around to see how others felt about the disintegrating content and whether their viewing habits have changed, Mrs. Blasena said, “Yes, I have actually stopped watching several shows in recent months due to poor quality viewing. Some are even shows that I have watched for years, but I have found that the content is just not as captivating as it used to be. So unfortunately, I have given up on multiple series!” Clearly it’s not just new shows that are lacking.
Mrs. Evangelista also chimed in, saying, “Yes, because they’re remaking a lot of things, probably because they ran out of ideas.”
Lowering standards isn’t just a new fad either; this has been going on for years at this point! It’s time to put an end to lackluster material and start demanding higher quality content!
