On Friday, October 25th during Blocks 4 and 5, the Fords Middle School Pink Out was held in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. All of the funds raised for the Pink Out went toward the Breast Cancer Foundation, Metavivor. The Pink Out was mainly run by Mr. Taber and Mr. Sikora, who was spinning the beats from the DJ booth. The Fords Middle School Cheerleaders also joined in at the beginning of the event.
The Pink out was held in the cafeteria of Fords Middle School, starting around 1:30 P.M, and ending around 2:30 P.M. During the Pink out, members of the Student Council went up and spun a wheel, which chose a random attendee at the Pink Out. When the wheel landed on a name, that student went onstage to spin the PBSIS Wheel, which had prizes such as candy, movie with popcorn, and even being able to go on the Jenkinson’s Boardwalk field trip later this year!
Also, the teachers had a “Hot Ones” hot wing eating contest! Mr. Taber, Mrs. Arellano, Mrs. Murphy, Ms. Furrevig, and Ms. Boyko participated to see who could eat the hottest wings.
Though the main purpose of the Pink Out was to bring awareness and raise funds for Metavivor, the event also gave students a break from their classes for an afternoon! Thank you to everyone who helped donate to Metavivor!
