Imagine there being 60,000+ people in a sport that lasts about 90-135 minutes infused with excitement. Well, this beautiful game is called soccer. Soccer is one the most popular games in the world.
Soccer originated in 1863 and is Earth’s most widely recognized sport. It consists of 11 players on each team. You have to try to kick a soccer ball into a soccer goal without using your hands. Only the goalkeeper is allowed to use their hands and arm to save the ball from going into the soccer net.
In soccer, the two greatest soccer players are Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi. These people have scored 800+ goals in each of their careers. Ronaldo has 902 goals (as of now) and Messi has 840 goals (as of now). Messi has eight Ballon D’or and Ronaldo has five of them. The Ballon D’or is awarded for outstanding performances in a year.
Some awards that soccer players get are the World Cup and Euro Cup. These are the international cups that come one time every four years. The UEFA Champions Cup is a club cup and comes once a year.
Soccer is a wonderful sport filled with lots of surprises and fun. With just 11 people on two teams, look how much fun and excitement is coming out of the game of soccer. In my opinion, it is the best game!
