The 2025 McDonald’s All-American Game features 24 of the country’s top-ranked high school basketball players. It will be held on April 1, 2025 at 6:30PM at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. The top-ranked recruits will compete against each other to showcase their skills to college coaches and potentially NBA scouts who attend the game.
The games will be featuring both boys’ and girls’ competitions. The boys’ game, marking its 48th annual occurrence, has 24 players selected from over 700 nominees. Players in both competitions are chosen by a committee of basketball experts through a nomination and selection process. High school coaches, athletic directors, principals, and members of the McDonald’s All-American Selection Committee nominate players based on competitive criteria, after which a final selection committee narrows the list down to the top 24 boys and 24 girls.
There are two teams in the boys’ competition – the East vs. the West. The East team consisted of:
F Shon Abaev, Calvary Christian (Cincinnati)
G Darius Acuff Jr., IMG Academy (Arkansas)
G Darius Adams, La Lumiere School (UConn)
F Nate Ament, Highland School
F Cameron Boozer, Christopher Columbus High School (Duke)
G Cayden Boozer, Christopher Columbus High School (Duke)
F Jalen Haralson, La Lumiere School (Notre Dame)
G Isiah Harwell, Wasatch Academy (Houston)
F Trey McKenney, St. Mary’s Preparatory (Michigan)
C Malachi Moreno, Great Crossing High School (Kentucky)
G Braylon Mullins, Greenfield-Central High School (UConn)
C Eric Reibe, Bullis School (UConn)
Fellow classmate, Jayden, provided some insight by saying, “I don’t know too much about this game, but Cayden and Cameron Boozer are really tuff. They both are some players that I’ve heard about because my cousin lives in California and he met them at one of their high school games. Also, Alijah Arenas is shifty and very crafty with his moves.”
The opposing team, the West consists of:
G Alijah Arenas, Chatsworth High School
G Mikel Brown Jr., DME Academy (Louisville)
F Nike Bundalo, Prolific Prep (Washington)
G Brayden Burries, Eleanor Roosevelt High School
C Chris Cenac Jr., Link Academy (Houston)
F AJ Dybantsa, Utah Prep (BYU)
F Nikolas Khamenia, Harvard-Westlake School (Duke)
F Koa Peat, Perry High School
G Darryn Peterson, Prolific Prep (Kansas)
G Meleek Thomas, Overtime Elite Academy (Arkansas)
F Caleb Wilson, Holy Innocents’ Episcopal School (North Carolina)
F Tounde Yessoufou, St. Joseph High School (Baylor)
Both teams consist of mainly top players in the country from the graduating class of 2025, but a couple of players reclassed to be able to play up and graduate earlier to play college basketball a year earlier.
FMS classmate, Jordan, gave his thoughts about the game and some players. “I like the skill level of the players, it’s very good. Alijah Arenas was cooking up and he’s tuff. AJ Dybantsa is one of my favorite players and he’s gonna cook up at BYU and dominate the competition as a freshman. Meleek Thomas is another one of my favorite players that played in the All-American Game.”
