On January 21, 2025, the goal machine, Erling Haaland and Manchester City renewed Haaland’s contract in Manchester, England. Haaland signed a massive contract with Manchester City. He signed a new contract with them because his contract was expiring. The owner of City had a talk with him about his contract and agreed to $600,000 per week for 9.5 years straight.
Even though Manchester City has charges against them, Haaland did not care about it and still did it. This is the longest Premier League contract. I was personally very happy with this contract because he has 111 goals in 125 matches. He is a goal machine! I interviewed my fellow friend, Jayden C, and he had this to say: “The contract extension of Erling Haaland for 9 and a half years is one of the best things that could have happened for Manchester City. He is a key component to the team because of the amount of goals he scores and the massive potential he has to become the best in the world.”
Haaland is expected to lead the line once more but could be joined in the attacking department within Pep Guardiola’s squad this week as the club closes in on the arrival of the Egyptian prince, Omar Marmoush from Eintracht Frankfurt. Omar Marmoush is also a goal machine. In 17 games, he has 24 goal contributions. With these signings, this could help City win their 5th consecutive Premier League title.
“The massive amount of money they paid for him, he could have joined an even bigger club like Barcelona or Real Madrid in the years to come. Teams such as Paris Saint Germain, Real Madrid and Liverpool have been very aware because they considered buying the Norwegian, despite his ten-year contract renewal, as an option for their striker problem.”
I interviewed my best friend, Jovan J, and he had to say this about his favorite player extending his contract: “Since Haaland is my favorite player, it makes me happy that my favorite player is playing for the best soccer team in the world and playing for my favorite club.”
Manchester City has been in a drought. They were one of the favorites to win the Premier League and be the first team in Premier League history to have 5 consecutive Premier League titles, but with their past games, it looks like Liverpool are the clear favorites. With this massive contract for the 2nd top scorer in the Premier League, could he make a u-turn with Manchester City and go on a win streak and secure their 9th Premier League title and have Haaland win his third golden boot?
