Sports. Who doesn’t like them? My favorite sport is soccer, but some people like calling it football. It’s packed with fun on the pitch with interesting games. My favorite part about soccer is when people score, like my favorite team, Real Madrid.
In soccer, there’s different types of trophies, like the Champions League trophy. If you want a national trophy, then there is a World Cup. That’s only two of them, but there are more trophies. The World Cup is an international trophy where many countries play for the biggest trophy in football history. To enter the World Cup, you have to be in the 12 group winners that go directly to the World Cup. The 12 runners-up will go into the playoffs, joined by four teams from the last edition of the UEFA Nations League, to battle it out for the final four spots.
Soccer is a 90 minute game and there are two halves. It’s an 11 v 11 game where you try to pass and kick a ball into a goal with your teammates but DO NOT kick into your own goal. It may sound boring but really, it’s not.
Some of the GOATS (greatest of all time) are Ronaldo, Messi, Neymar. Jr, and Pele. These are people who made football fans excited back then and people loved them.
One of the best parts of the game is the skill moves. My favorite skill move is the rainbow flick. It’s basically when you do a rainbow over someone’s body with the ball.
Some cards in football are the red card and yellow card. What it does is when someone is about to score and someone commits a foul, then it’s a red card. A yellow card is when someone commits a foul/warning, but their player was not through on goal or about to score.
At the end of the day, soccer is something special in my heart and even though people say it’s a regular sport, for me it’s not.
