Have you ever thought about why you see a series of words that are different, yet they are all called poems? Well there is a reason why it is like that. There are multiple types of poems, each having their own special way of being seen and composed. Plus, they have their own reasons why you should use them.
The first kind of poem is the “Haiku” poem and the haiku poem is a traditional Japanese poem that has 3 lines in the poem. It follows a syllable pattern of 5/7/5, meaning that the first line has 5 syllables and the second line has 7 syllables then the last line has 5 syllables.
The second kind of poem is the “Acrostic” poem. In this poem, there is a word going up and down vertically that is the focus of the poem. Then, each letter of that word has its own line, going horizontally, with the first word of that line beginning with that letter. This kind of poem is common among school projects.
The next poem is the “Epic” poem and this kind of poem has nothing to do with the company “Epic Games”. This kind of poem is often seen in pentameters in English, and also they can probably be found in books as a common appearance.
